Embarrassed by Fantasia C-dur (Wanderer Fantasy) op. 15, D. 760 (1822)

I have been strenuously avoiding Schubert’s piano music ever since hearing extensive samples of it played by Perriah in Singapore, in 2002. But sometimes I get caught without the chance to duck: like now, at the Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdroj. (It is a good place to come to to hear new, rising pianistic stars, especially in the year of the Chopin Competition (next one is in 2015) because then most competitors come to play at the festival). Alas, sometimes, when you come for a recital, if you want to hear the Chopin (part 1) and the Prokofiev (part 3), you are forced to hear the Schubert (part 2).
And the results are… embarrassing. How trivial can you get?
