Susan Sontag was bored at 36

Her son says somewhere in his book about her (I think it is her son… or was it her adolescent lover?  My notes are not to hand, I  can’t check) that by the age 36 she has read everything worth reading and thought she had her life behind her and nothing to look forward to.  I seem to have reached that stage about 10 years later in my life — but then, I have devoted a decade to the study of some art forms Susan Sontag probably did not study.  The end result is the same.
